Laborers Fight Back

LIUNA is fed up with crooked contractors and dishonest developers stealing money off the backs of exploited workers. Construction contractor Concrete Rising and convicted labor broker Salvador Almonte, for instance, repeatedly exploited immigrant workers at Lefrak’s The Wave Development (30 Park Lane North, Jersey City). Workers were denied the pay they earned, a safe workplace, and faced constant employer intimidation. Companies like Lefrak and Concrete Rising benefit from this broken system while workers, honest employers, and the community suffer.
